Speakers

Dr. Brandon Mahal

Oncologist at MGH

Brandon A. Mahal, M.D. was born and raised in Madera, California. After attending UCLA for undergrad, he completed medical school at Harvard Medical School where he began clinical research in prostate cancer under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Nguyen and Dr. Anthony D’Amico. He is currently training as a radiation oncologist in the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program where he has continued prostate cancer research. His research interests in prostate cancer is the study of “high risk” populations, and uncovering the potential drivers of lethal prostate cancer. As such, a majority of his work has been focused on examining and understanding disparities in prostate cancer outcomes, with a goal of optimizing disease control for all patients with aggressive prostate cancer.

Dr. Richard Lee

Oncologist At MGH

At MGH, Dr. Lee has a clinical focus on genitourinary malignancies. He is vice-chair of
the NCCN Prostate Cancer Treatment Guidelines. He has written numerous clinical
reviews and book chapters on prostate and bladder cancers, and clinical practice
guidelines for UpToDate as well.
Dr. Lee has diverse research interests. His main interest is the translational study of
circulating tumor cells (CTCs) for diagnosis and disease monitoring in prostate cancer
patients.  

Leonard Tshitenge

Founder of Consciously Exposed

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo on the continent of Africa, Leonard Tshitenge is a Certified Boston Poet approved by the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture, Dynamic Consultant, Community Builder and Speaker. Leonard migrated with his family to the United States in Boston Massachusetts at the age of 16. He studied at Fisk University, a historical Black College in Nashville,
Tennessee.  Mr. Tshitenge has extensive Clinical Professional Training in Mental Health Therapeutic Interventions where he provided Therapeutic Mentoring and Coaching to Youth and Families in order to enhance interpersonal communications skills, practice safety and develop wellness plan while facilitating groups and helped them obtain community resources.

Cassie Pearce

Community Manager at WeWork 711 Atlantic Ave.

Cassie Pearce was born and raised in Northern New Jersey. After graduating from Loyola University Maryland, she moved to New York and worked at Disney ABC Television until relocating to Boston last April. In addition to managing the 711 Atlantic WeWork location, Cassie also coordinates WeWork's local Impact initiatives with a focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Homelessness Outreach and Addiction Recovery. This is Cassie's 6th year as a MoSista and she has raised over $18,000 in support of the men in her life.


Chuck Jones

Community lead at WeWork One Beacon St.

Chuck Jones currently serves as the Community Lead, Hospitality at WeWork One Beacon, while he also pursues his Masters (full-time) in Media Advocacy at Northeastern University joint journalism, the law program. Originally from Gibsonville, North Carolina, Chuck attended North Carolina A&T State University where he major in Sociology and Social Work. After graduating in 2012, Chuck began his career as an educator, where he'd join Teach For America, Charlotte where he taught English and History. His life's dream was made a full circle when he'd lead his school Track and Field team to two state championships, creating 6 All-American athletes before moving to Boston for Graduate School. In his free time, he enjoys exploring Boston with his 7-year-old son, Landon.
